Apologies for the absence, dear readers. Pregnancy, heatwaves, moving (during said heatwaves!) and a million other things has made sitting down to write about as unappealing as…well a very unappealing thing. I don’t know. It’s still very hot and my brain has melted. Plus I have Pregnancy Brain so thinking is really not my strong point right now.
But I digress. Today I wanted to talk about summer bucket lists. Specifically: Do you have one and what is on it?
I go into summers with the best of intentions, wanting to make them fun and magical and blah blah blah, and then they arrive and I get hot and lazy and almost no fun things happen. Before we know it, school is starting again and I feel like garbage. Last summer was basically a bust, with everything being shut down due to Covid, and so much unknown going on. This summer we have the added complication off me being pregnant (how many times can I mention that in one blog post, right???) which does limit some of our options. I’d love to take the kiddo horseback riding for example, but that’s not looking too promising. We’re talking about camping in the backyard (which we will definitely try!) but I’m not so sure how well that’s going to work with my constant middle of the night peeing and inability to get up without going through a whole weird rolling routine. Air mattresses? Uhhh…no thank you.
But I’m determined to try to make this summer as special as possible, especially seeing as it’s her last summer as an only child, because I’m – you know what, I’m just not going to say it again.
That’s about as far as I’ve gotten for now. Not the most exciting of summer bucket lists I’m sure, but it’s a start.
Now I want to hear from you, do you have a summer bucket list? If so, what have you put on it?
